OK, so the stock muffler on my wife's '03 Z71 Tahoe is rattling, the heat shield is cracked along one edge. While checking for fixes/replacments she tells me that she would like better if it sounded "mean and nasty". She makes me so happy sometimes

. I do some you tube research and forward her this:

"Hell YES!" was the reply I get.

Now my questions:
-I've read that the stock exhaust size is 2.75" and these mufflers come in either 2.5" or 3". I would also like to retain the flange that is located north of the stock muffler so that if the time came I could buy any other exhaust system and bolt it up. Is it simple enough to ask the shop to keep that section of the stock exhaust and mate it (2.75") to the 3" muffler?
-I am unsure if I want single or dual exits but if I go dual, should I go 3" all the way or use a smaller diameter like 2.5"
-Anything I am missing?
