2018 last minute thrash.

So what does everyone bring as a just in case out there? Trying to get a parts stash together before heading down.

Really depends on how you drive, but

First aid kit
water
food
hat

yeah I know that's not what you asked

U Joints for each shaft
drive shafts or axle shafts if you have something fragile or odd, or if you drive with a heavy foot
spark plug
ignition module
Full sized spare
power steering lines, fan belts
whatever tools you needed to put the truck together (hub socket?)
ATF, oil, Power steering fluid
electrical repair items

stuff to repair unique parts (arb kit?)

I have 6” lift and 33’s. Mine is a total mall crawler. This being my first trip I intend to just show up and be part of the event and make every effort to avoid every slightly challenging obstacle. Maybe I come back next year with a more competent rig. We will see. Do you think I really need all of that if I’m taking the easiest path with a light foot the whole time?

The light pedal is the key. Things can always go wrong. I had a locking hub go bad on a flat dirt road.

Go through the truck thoroughly. Check the joints, fluids, steering gear, just make sure it is solid.

Water, food and basic tools are a must.

Just be cognizant if you have a special or different part. Most of us carry stuff, so most needed spares are there

And drive it like you’re driving it home, you’ll be fine. And once you are there with everyone, you’ll be much more at ease

Hells and long canyon can be done in a stock truck. Steel bender has bypasses on all but one hard section. And it is a pucker moment, but we have gotten everyone through every time

Don't forget an extra oil filter, and check your steering arm and leaf spring bolts before you go. With the people that attend a lot of stuff can be fixed, welded or held together with playdoh. But don't be that guy. Just go over stuff. I spend a lot of time under the truck just checking bolts, and have still been that guy. Bring extra hubs and u-joints.
