Most folks here have likely seen the new Bronco by now. Ford has the right idea. GM not so much, way to wreck the and diminish the great blazer name.

This thing looks awesome. Pretty disappointing you can’t get the big engine with the manual transmission though. But still a bad ass rig all the way around.

I definitely think it will do good for Ford and is a definite step up from the explorer. but it still looks like an inbred “land rover bronco FJ JK”.
Hopefully it will prompt GM to step up and make a real blazer again and not just a re-styled traverse.

Unfortunately I don't see that happening... even if they try to compete with a Hummer or something, it will never have a removable roof doors etc. it will just be another crossover with some stickers at best.
The Jeep thing has become pretty played out lately. (I like them, took my drivers test in a manual jeep almost 30 years ago and still own 2) Once they moved away from small and light with the current 4 doors they forgot what made them great. They are big and heavy now and have become mainstream. Overall dimensions of a 4 door JK are about the same as a K5 blazer. My soft top K5 weighs less than my dads 4 door hardtop JK. The Bronco is going to crush sales figures for a while I think. Something different and capable in a market just begging for competition. If I was a Ford guy I would look at one for sure. GM really missed a huge market. I agree with @beags86, the S-10 ruined the Blazer name anyway. (My first truck was a S-15 Jimmy, 2.8, 5spd and a Fisher plow. Gutless.) Reboot the Blazer name or come up with something new, the sales figures for Jeep are giant, go take some of that money. If that picture above had a LS and a bowtie on the grill I would be interested for sure. Ford really came up with something cool. GM is looking at sales for soccer moms right now but they have hurt the brand for guys like us by ignoring 4x4 enthusiasts.

First time I rode in a buddys Bronco in High School I was impressed. He had a soft top, V8, 4 spd, D44 with a 9 inch. It came with that drivetrain stock with a coil spring front end. All he had really done was a 4" lift, new top and took the doors off. That truck was sweet.
If they hold together, I think they nailed it. With 200 aftermarket style add ons already.
