There is another thread on this already. They killed it with this.
First time I rode in a buddys Bronco in High School I was impressed. He had a soft top, V8, 4 spd, D44 with a 9 inch. It came with that drivetrain stock with a coil spring front end. All he had really done was a 4" lift, new top and took the doors off. That truck was sweet.
Sure, its not a Ford and I agree with that. But... if you wanted to go to Moab today and go see the sights, had no mechanical abillity and were going to buy something capable, what would you do? That's why Jeeps are all over the rockies. Swarms of them. Ford just stepped up big time in the enthusiast market. If I could just get over that 4 letter word I might go to the darkside myself. Its cool.Id rather have the Blazer
I agree. The danger with not having all segments covered is that if I were to buy a Bronco for wheeling, and it was good, then there is nothing stopping me from going to a F350 for work. If I buy a Jeep, then I still will look to GM when I need a pickup because Jeep doesn't make a real truck. Brand loyalty doesn't mean as much as it used to. GM should be afraid of the Bronco, it could cost them customers in the future. If they want to compete they have the Hummer name in the books.
Now I don't want to hear about the new Hummer and their direction with it. It might be (Because we really don't know) and electric competitor.
I also don't want to hear about the h2. That thing sold in troves when they came out.
The h3 could have been a legit off roader.
The h3 alpha was badass. But once again gm didn't market it well. And just like the Colorado ZR2....since it's not a solid axle it gets ignored by the general off road community.
The raptor has a cult following because those stupid bro graphics on the side and those 3 damn lights in the grill.
As far as the name? Who cares. In 1966 no one every heard of a Camaro. And it went on to sell like crazy for 50 years. And is one of the most recognized Chevy names ever.
Names are created everyday.
I am with @HankScorpio though. GM should build something and actually spend some real actual money marketing a better off road toy.
ZR2/Z71/Hummer/Blazer/Alpha. It doesn't matter to me.

I went wheeling in Grand Junction over the 4th with familly. '18 JK, not a rubicon, sport model. Factory limited slip rear with a small lift for 35's. No stupid accessories, bumpers, grumpers, vicowls, led's, or a rooftop tent. No sat nav, dual climate control or anything extra. Just a Jeep with Nittos. Cruising around with the AC on, it was pretty sweet and quite capable.Jeeps are still hard to beat if you’re actually going to take your bank account offroading. In reality how many of you drive your newer trucks offroad, good thing they have push button t/c or the linkage would seize up from not being used.
Poop being the operative wordName doesnt sell anything anymore except Camaro, Mustang, and Corvette to retirees.
Gm doesn't care about the off road crowd. Why engineer something cool, capable, and new, when you can poop out another stupid tall boxy car and call it an "SUV".
It’s a Jeep thing, you wouldn’t understandJust a reminder. Yeah gm missed the boat on this one but meanwhile they were putting out a Corvette that sells for 60k and dunks all over 300 thousand Porsche 911 GT2 RS's
No doubt the Jeep pie is too big not to get some action of. Don't understand it, can't justify it.
I really don't. Of course I don't get the blazer thing either. It’s a Jeep thing, you wouldn’t understand
