I am tearing apart a 205 to put new seals and gaskets in it and mostly to just learn how to do it it is realy pretty simple but i cant figure out how to get the shift shafts out I knocked out the 4 small plugs 2 in the top to for access to the roll pin In the shift fork and the 2 on the side of the housing but the shaft slides back and forth but won't come out any ideas?

You have to remove the crossbar that the shifter connects to so that the rails can move independently. Then screw around with them until you can get one out. It is the interlock bars between the two rails that is keeping you from getting them out, and there is a position where they will come out.
