2wd steering box- what years work?

I'm no expert, but I don't think a '93 box will work. In '91, you could still get a straight axle truck (Blazer, pickup, crew cab). In '93 they were long gone.
 
You could probably do some fabrication and make it work but why bother when the correct parts are readily available?
 
Thanks man, I dug out an old pump last night and took that piece off. I understand perfectly what you are alking about now. I appreciate the input.
 
One small note on the sector shafts. There were at least two different types. I know because i tried to put the wrong one in and the gears would not meet up. I'm refering to those saying you can just swap sector shafts from a 4wd box to a 2wd box. You can but make sure you have the right one. As far as the pump goes, that is good info to have.

yeah, I heard that too. That's another reason I just got a whole box from an 89 sub. I just seemed like less chances for a headache to me.
