3/4 ton 15 \"rim clearance

Today I had to buy a new 1/2 ton caliper. I am swapping to 3/4 ton soon. I believer the 1/2 ton calipers will fit the 3/4 ton axle. I want to run 15" rims on the 3/4 ton axle. Will I have to clearance the 1/2 ton caliper to clear the rim?

When I did my 3/4 ton axles on my 88 K5, I used the original calipers(1/2 ton) and I also ran 15" wheels too. I didn't have to grind a thing, the wheels were 15x10 white spokes and I don't have a clue what the backspacing was.

It ENTIRELY depends on your backspacing.
I bought black rockcrawler (from 4WPW) 15x10 8-lugs. I forget exactly what backspacing is, but it's more than the 15x10 8-lugs they sell at National and Discount.
I had to grind qutie a bit. A lot, actually. Not to the point where I was concerned about strength, but it was a major PITA and time-hog.
I would recommend calling 4WPW and asking what the backspacing is on the rims like I have. Then ask if you can custom order them about 1/2" less (or order them from someone else, again just less backspacing.) That way you would have to do minimal grinding.

Mine where a 4 1/4 inch backspacing. But i think the other common size is 3 1/2.THis would reduce or elimnate the grinding maybe.I think my rims are amarican racing not 100%.
