Quick question I heard early model 4500's had the same bellhousing bolt pattern. Doesn't look like it from your pics of the 92's.

92-95 has external clutch slave and same bellhousing pattern. 96+ has internal clutch slave and different bellhousing pattern, also has 4 bolt style shifter. 1995 is actually a one year only, has early bellhousing pattern but 4 bolt shifter like 96+.

I left out an important detail in my question above, do the early 4500 have the same bell pattern as sm465?
Nope, neither early or late style will interchange with a 465 bell. There has been a few guys that have drilled the transmission to accept a 465 bell but if you are running at least a 4" lift you can use a stock 4500 bell and save the cost of an Advance Adapter bell which is kinda pricey. Or use the 96+ with internal slave and clear with or without a lift.

yep 4" lift clear a ext slave bell setup . and just shorten the nv4500 line and reflare the end and add in a metric bubble flare union and hook to stock 85-91 hose re-routed over the back of the engine and bleed the system and go enjoy the overdrive .

Do you have a yrc terminal near you for shipping? If so shipping zip 93458 for a quote, it would just need to be strapped to a small pallet. I'm sure a ratchet strap would work.

Just to verify is the length from bell mounting surface to end of tail shaft mount 12" on the 4x4?

Case length is 12.37" and I have a YRC terminal about 7 miles from where I work. Address: 14700 E Smith Rd, Aurora, CO 80011

Not sure if these rates are subject to change but this is what I came up with.

You guys are killing me. I’m trying so hard to talk myself out of getting one of these...:D
Every time I drive my K5 I tell myself that it is one of the best mods I have ever done on any of my vehicles. And I have been building cars/trucks/street rods for over 40 years.

if you love your ride / love to row gears = this is the trans for you . if i did another rig and wanted stick it would be atleast this trans model for sure .

a truck a friend of mine use to have he swapped a hydro 465/round 205 for the 92-94 ext 4500 slave . he did the advanced adapters spacer for the tcase . the rear shaft still fit and was a bolt in job for the most part .
