Nice work! glad it was an easy solution

Did you have a good look at that lever when the pan was off ? they have a tendency to crack in the corners and fold up/bend keeping them from fully depressing the valve when the throttle is wide open. Speaking of throttle. Have someone sit in the truck while you are at the engine and have them push the throttle to the floor. Are you getting absolute wide open throttle at the carb? This could be the problem as well.Post the fix![]()
The lever is a separately available part if you need one. I doubt the shift kit will have anything to do with the kickdown function. You may also need to raise the governor rpm some if you have swapped to a steep gear in the diffs. Did you verify wide open throttle operation from inside the truck?
