Is the flexplate different between a 350 and a 383? I know balancer is, I just bought my 383 balancer, but what about the flexplate? I was looking on ebay and some look like they have a weight on them and some don't(generic pictures?). So do I need a specific flexplate? All the ones on Ebay are 2 piece rear main and I need 1 Piece. The only one on Ebay that says 1 Piece says 350 and 383 in the title so who knows.

In the early days of 383's we used 400 cranks , balancers , and flywheel/flexplates . Externally balanced .

Nowadays with kits you can get it internally balanced for some money .

If you need a 1 piece main piece its gonna be aftermarket or custom GM performance parts piece , 400's never came with 1 piece rear seal :k5: :k5:

If you have an auto , you can use 14088765 12-3/4” outside diameter, 153 tooth, 10.75” bolt pattern straight from GM , was used on one piece rear seal ht383:D

ha, I do understand that, there are plenty of companies making aftermarket ones. I'm looking for the info as to what aftermarket one I need. Mine is a new crank(Eagle 1 piece rear main cast) but its externally balanced(I should have ponied up for a Forged internal but I was stupid and went cheap).

Dug one up and added above
