My k5 is once again my DD, and for a while I have been wanting to put some 3pt seat belts in it since there are only lap belts for the front buckets atm and that wouldn't work out too well in a wreck. I'm picky about what I want though...

I would like the retractable portion on the floor in it's own enclosure, and a hard mount on the other end, not a roller where the belt then runs back to the floor to bolt in.

let me attempt to explain with my handy dandy paint tool (excuse the mess, i'm at work with only a trackpad to work with)...

The one on the left is the common configuration that I don't want (it's all I saw in the junkyard this morning).
The right one is what i am looking for to weld to the rollbar for when I have the hardtop off.

Anyone know of a vehicle that came with this style seat belts? Or should I modify/settle for the other more common style (like out of a 88-91 burb)?

Any helps appreciated, thanks guys.

I'd just settle for the burb style.

I'm too tired right now to come up with the physics, but there is a reason they designed them that way. Do NOT modify a stock style into the type you want.

i can see the physics in that they don't want the retraction device to take crash stress loads, i was hoping someone would tell me different....well now I know what to look for, thanks darren

Any real reason you don't want that style? I've got them in my burb, and they function fine. No complaints.

i just thought it would look cleaner and simplify installation. there are two burbs that i saw this morning with 'em and it's either those or some out of an extended cab truck. hopefully i can snag some that are black, gray, or red...
