I currently have a 400 sb in my 1985 Burb 4X4. Got an edelbrock hi-rise / Carter 600 cfm on it, double hump heads...etc.

Going to rebuild it... thinking about going with fuel injection. Let's hear some pro/cons. Thinking about VORTECH heads, but the double humps were suppose to be the best of the best. If I go VORTECH heads/intake, heads will be for the 350 cu. in......valve clearance problems?..... pros/cons ? What about the harness/ECM unit.....pricey? Difficult to convert?

If u go EFI, it will require custom programming of the ECM, so you'd need an aftermarket one or a reprogrammed OEM one. I wouldn't run the vortec heads on a *hot* 400, but a nice low-end torque engine might like them. Aluminum SBC heads are around $850 now, I'd run a set of those instead.
