454 build in Car Craft...

Yep, pretty damn good build and perfect for our rigs. Also, pretty easy to duplicate with your local machine shop I would think. I'm pretty sure I have that same cam floating around my shop. Peanut port heads are practially given away...

unfortunatley the website for demon engines is kaput.
following the link in carcraft & googling results in jack.

I have a subscription, and I was thinking the exact same thing reading the article. that 408CI from a 350 block would be pretty cool too. alot more expensive depending on how much a guy could do at home vs the machinist doing it.

My 454 in my truck is darn close, smaller cam and less compression. Mine is at approx 336hp and 500lbs and all done by 3950rpm. Still it is really awsome to crawl at 750-1500rpms and never really lug the engine. I love mine. Now if I didn't think I needed to turbo it on LPG.

Yeah, I saw that article also. I'm sure lots of people have been disappointed there is no website. $2650 outright (no core charge?) sounds too good to be true!?

408 from a 350 block? Thats not possible.

The zz502 is a roller this was a f/t cam

4.030 bore 4" stroke. The showed it being done, may have been FM.

Huh I researched the article and found its a 50/50 shot with the block clearancing not hitting the water jacket and that it requires specially designed rods that reduce the clearancing even further. Traditional rods will not work in a stock block.

I'm downright wrong on this one. Cant believe I've never heard of it before.

Still and all the idea of having to gamble with buying block after block if you get the dealt the **** hand doesnt appeal to me.

you can get a 454 out of a 350.... well, a World Product 350 block....

It's bloody amazing how many cubes they can get out of a sbc now...even if it is with an aftermarket block and a lot of $$$
