465 chrome stick vs black stick??

I know it's semi stupid, But I am taking the good interior from my 87 silverado and putting it in my 76. I want to keep the nice clean 87 interior. Can I swap the shifters from tranny to tranny? Yes, Just take off the boot, see the round peice surrounding the stick? Push it down and turn it counter clockwise it will pop right out. Put it in neutral first.

yes you can, i have a chrome one if anyone needs ? 40 and mail with boot and all very nice clean shape
