Hey Mitch, what are smog laws and restrictions regarding engine swaps in the PDX area? There's a distinct possibility that we'll be back there within a year. Obviously you've done swaps, and if I recall right, you live in PDX proper. Also, whatever happened with the proposition to get rid of smog check in PDX? Did it pass? I thought it was a great idea, and I was shocked that PDX would realize that smog laws are essentially just a tax on the poor.
 
I actually dont know. I just registered it out of county. Then i just go to DMV and buy tags. If i didnt have that option, i would just do the swap and make it look as factory as possible and assume it would pass the sniff test. They do still do the sniff test.

Years ago when i put a cadillac 500ci in my 78 suburban i just made it look factory. DEQ popped the hood and stuck the sniffer in the tail pipe, it passed and they gave me my tags.
