500 cid Caddy TBI?

Part number for a 1975 500 D1907, "COIL,DISTR PICK UP".

Unfortunately, it was only used up to 1990 according to AC Delco, and was used *only* on carbed applications. Same as all other V8's though, for example a 1986 K5 used it.

Guess I need to go brave the rain and pop the cap off my TBI dizzy. See what it's inerds look like.

I might have a line on a guy that makes HEI to TBI conversion parts for the distributors, $25 for everything. I should know in a few days.

Guy is a flake, but I know for a fact from the Caddy forums that you can take an HEI and turn it into a dizzy that the TBI ECM is capable of controlling. I have lots more research to do.

Not too scared of the dizzy alterations.

Is there a color code for the 90 lbs./hr. injectors? Can't seem to find a bonified part number anywhere for them. GM couldn't tell me what the part number was!

Was also thinking about the motor homes. Would it be possible that they had a larger injector?

At any rate, I'm gona drop cash on the custom ground cam tomorrow so I'll get it to work somehow.

How about the "P" vans by any chance?

Checked my '88 parts manual, (R/V only) 17111784 is the "fuel injector kit" for the 7.4L engine, but according to gmpartsdirect.com it's no longer valid. As a reference. With only one injector for the big block (at least in light trucks) if factory 90lb/hrs exist, they must be from a non R/V app.

There were only 3 injector part numbers listed for '87-88, 305, 350, and 454. (4.3 listed but doesn't show part #)

Haven't cross referenced it so I'm not 100% that that's correct.

Can't find that at GMPD.

217-340 is the AC Delco number for a 1990 Kodiak 427 TBI, but I can't find any specs on it.

Looks like the new p/n is 17111784.

I couldn't get it with a direct search but if you browse the catalog you can find it under an '89 1-ton pickup.

It also appears that there was a second 90 pound injector used that's listed as a 17112249.

Turbo City lists both of these injectors as 75 lb injectors. I don't know exactly WTF the deal is. I'd hook up an air/fuel gauge and bump the pressure if they don't flow enough.

I think I'll just call Turbo city tomorrow. Maybe Bosch and accel as well.
