52" compared to 56" springs

Remind me where the center hole is in Chevy 56" springs.

On a 52" spring it is centered, so 26" from either side of the springs. The 56" spring is still 26" from the front of the spring to the center hole, than 30" from the center hole to the back of the spring.

Correct. The only reason to use the zero rate to push the axle back is because the axle moves forward with the flip if I was just moving the oem shackle hanger back aka no lift the axle would remain the same.

With the zero rate you have the option of relocating the axle 0"-1"-1.5" depending on which way you turn/install them to recenter your axle in the opening. In my case I want to push the axles a little farther away from each other for clearance and longer wheel base. I would rather trim the fangs up front than have the tire get into the firewall/inner fender area and trim the back toward the bumper than the front of the wheel well.

Go with 56s. Done properly I can't see you losing stability to be honest. Look at newer che vies, they all have 64in springs for 20 years...
