After my '86 Sub is sitting an hour or two, I have ta rev it or floor it whilst driving to get it to fire on alll 8. Just like a gas engine with a bad/fouled plug. After it belches it's grey smoke, it runs smooth.
I suspect a fool injector is dribbling fuel, and flooding the cylinder. Will a laser thermo guage find a cold cylinder?
Mileage is prob 211k, not the best maintained. See it here...

Good point, it runs nice once it clears up. A friend suggested a prob with a little return lines. They all look good, and the little clamps are present.
I drove it from Las Vegas to LA, via the Mojave Desert. Got a touch over 200f.

Suggestions?

I'll go look for a better vid...

I don't think you can "flood" a cylinder on a diesel.....not like a gas engine in which you can keep the spark from igniting. So as already mentioned if this was happening that cylinder would be too hot.

You could have a line to one or more cylinders with a leak, and thus allowing an air pocket that has to work it's way out (means that cylinder would not be firing until the air was out of the way).

Good point, and u'r RIGHT!
I called "Hectorwithinjectors" from eBay, in Cal, and he told me that the injector has a little propellor inside, and that they malfunction.
Anyways, he told me to loosen each injector line whilst the engine is running, until I don't lose engine speed. And I tried it, and it worked! When the diesel oil started spraying out, the engine would shake worse, until I got to the culprit. I made a video, but Utube's F*cked up at the moment.
