Saw this for sale on FB and was wondering if that intake is factory--and if the bell housing is for the A-733 NP 4 speed overdrive ?..doesn't look like a typical SM465 bell housing ..
And the air intake ?...:dunno:

Probably a Novak adapter or Advance adapter for going to Landcruiser 4-speed or something weird like that.

6.5 turbo is very popular with the overlanding crowd for its fuel efficiency, good tourqe , and reliability.

It’s a popular swap to get rid off the straight six Toyota motors in Land Cruisers.

Whole mess is for sale for $450...ad claims the seller doesn't know much about it,and states the engine likely needs rebuilding..
I'm not interested in buying it--was just wondering what the parts were I didn't recognize..I've seen only one 6.5 turbo in a '93 K2500 my older brother had many years ago ..
I suppose if someone wanted to convert to a 4 speed the flywheel & bell housing are not commonly found items and not cheap if you find any used ones ..

Yes, the hydro bellhousing is worth saving. Not many for sale and they are worth some decent money.

Isn't the flywheel pretty rare for those too? I remember thinking that when we parted a manual 6.2L suburban years ago. Now I have no idea where those parts went...

Yes,at least around here,a 6.2 with a manual transmission isn't very common...most had TH400's or 700R4's..

A new one isn't cheap either..though a 6.2 has the same bolt pattern as a small block crank, the 6.2 is externally balanced, and has 139 teeth, not the typical 153 or 168 a small block has..so a SBC one wont work even if you could re-balance it properly..

I also think they had a "dual mass" flywheel ,and later replaced it with a "normal" style after many failed, but I may be thinking of 6.5 diesels..

Only seen maybe 3 diesel pickups with 6.2's and SM465's,and one with a A-733 Mopar 4 speed overdrive in an '82 at a junkyard--which I was going to buy,but they couldn't wait a half hour for me to return from my bank to get the money ,and they crushed it ..:(

Overall you do not see that many square bodies with SM465's,most that are standards here were in 1 ton K-30's used by contractors and DPW plow trucks, not too many people ordered pickups with a manual, dealers stocked 90% automatic equipped pickups with high options ..

Yeah I have one of those flywheels.
They are rather rare and unique to the 6.2

Factory 6.2/SM465 trucks might be scarce, but the flywheel isn't hard to find. Rockauto has 5 different brands ranging from $79-$136.

I sent one to scrap a while back because I figured nobody wanted it.

The dual-mass flywheels were used on early 6.5 engines to reduce the shuttering that these engines produce when first letting up on the clutch pedal. It's an NVH reduction.

The springs were prone to failure, leaving the outer flywheel free to slam back and forth against the spring stops, making a terrible clatter at idle speed and probably contributing to the snapped crankshaft reputation.

Those ones are much harder to find, and the last price I saw was $600. But why would you want one? :dunno:

I mean the manual behind the 6.2 was rare more came with the auto and since it is unique to the 6.2, not many USED units out there.
Everything is available new for consumables. :waytogo:
