Once I get moved to Maryland this month I need to injectors and a pump on the 6.2l. It is leaking some and my power is low even for a 6.2l. Does anyone have PERSONAL experience with finding a good reman pump? I have googled and Kennedy, Oregon Fuel Injection, and Penninsular all pop. I would like to hear from guys that actually bought one, not from buddies of buddies of a cousin that bought one once......in 1986.

Thanks, I have been leaning towards them. This cucv pump is supposed to have hardened internals but that’s probably an internet lie. I’ll call them and see.

Just got off of the phone with them and the 4520 pumps from the cucv does not have hardened internals. He said some military pumps do but not that model. I’ll order one and injectors once I am moved and settled in. I was only doing 40mph up the hill from Morongo Valley to Yucca Valley the other day!

How much for a rebuild did you ask?

All pumps have to be built with hardened internals any more. This is due to the lack of adequate lubrication from the ultra low sulfur fuel. So I would make sure who ever you go with for a rebuild does this. Or you'll just be doing it again in a short time frame.

I thought that was "normal" for a 6.2 going up a steep incline!--especially if the truck has highway gears ..

Nope, 4.10s with 235/85/16 tires. It had a 700r4 that went out and I had the th400 so I swapped it in.

I have a good used pump if you want it. I'd sell it for the core charge. Ran and drive fine when pulled. Stored in my shop.

I appreciate it but I would rather spend the extra money and have one with a guarantee and new parts. I've gone through two used pumps and its time to start fresh.

I just had one of mine rebuilt in August. Triplet Diesel Injection in Austin, Texas. He did my 6.5 GEP mechanical pump for $500. But said stanadyne has raised their prices and the next one will be $700.

Since I have the turbo, I told him I wanted it set to 4911 flow specs. One he figure out I wasn’t some dumb kid wanting to roll coal. He did it. Pump works great.

They are a small shop with no website. Give them a call if you want. 6.2 rebuilds always seem cheaper than 6.5 work.
