6.5TD Blazer/Tahoe

A guy in our club is looking at an '97 2-door Blazer/Tahoe with the 6.5TD. Can anybody verify what the rest of the drivetrain consists of? I can't look at it myself, but was curious of what the chances it would maybe have a 14SF rear and/or 4L80E trans???????

He also says it was some sort of military or government rig before......really stripped down.

It will have a 4L80E and 9.5" 6 lug rear axle, not totally positive on the axle but my LD 1500 pickup with 6.5TD had that. I would be really surprised if it has the 8.5" rear axle.

Is the 6.5 a reliable motor....also considering getting one..what about any other pro's and con's????
