6" shocks on 8" lift

i just bought brand new shocks for my 6" lifted truck then i got an 8" lift front springs and 2" rear blocks but thats all i got.....can i take and move the bottom shock mount from its stock location up to the top of the axel tube and run my new shocks ...it looks like it will move the mount about 2"...is there something i am over looking?

from what i have been told it goes like this. 0-4/6-8/10-12 for the shocks.
