60/40 seats pre 95 or 95+?

I want to put a 60/40 seat in my Jimmy. I'm trying to decide if I want one of the 88-94 with the 40 side on the drivers side or a 95-98 with the 60 side on the drivers side. Anyone have any experience with these seats to know which hold up better and which are more comfortable.

Yea, I had been looking for a 88-94 because I thought the 40 on the drivers side would make it more comfortable, but I just came across a 95+ with a fold down center console which is a big plus.

I just put in a set of pre 95 60/40 seats and it is a huge improvement. I wanted a set with the fold down center but I got these for nothing.

How easy did the seats mount up?

I have them in my 87 K10 so it is going to be different than in a K5 but I had to make a frame for them to sit on. Which wasn't hard and then cut down the stock mounts because they aren't removable, and I wanted to still be able to slide them forward and back.

If you look in SweetK30's build thread the frame I built looks similar to that and I can take pics tomorrow if you'd like. I know it won't be the same but might give you some ideas.

I have seats from a 2003 in my 76 and have a 2003 as a DD, they are both 40/20/40 with the fold down console and they're pretty comfortable. I got them for $250 for 2 sets ( I have 2 of the buckets in the back)

I bought my 2003 last June and traded in my 97 that I bought new. It was a std cab and had the solid bottom bench with individual bucket backs and the fold down console. I drove the truck for 12 years and really prefer the seats it had I made multiple trips where I was driving for 14 hours straight and loved the power lumbar really miss not having it. The solid bottom part would probably make it bad for a K5 but the split bench would be great if I ever come accross a set for a 96-98 I'll probably pick them up

these are the same ones I have but the price is kinda high, if you look at them on the website it says it's just the buckets and doesn't include the jump seat. car-parts.com has tons of these listed all over the country alot of times pretty cheap but be careful with the seatbelts if they've been in a nasty accident it might be a good idea to swap in a new one, and beware of blood stains

i want to do a seat upgrade too.. but im thinking once i go crew cab... i want 2 buckets up front and a full center console in the middle for a trucputer

Check with LKQ on their website and also on Ebay. 4 years ago I got the front buckets, center console, and rear seats out of a '02 Explorer Sport for my '96 Ranger. Excellent shape, all there...$250 shipped. I sold the console and rear seats and ended up with less than $150 into the swap.

I picked up seats from a 96 and should be installing them thanksgiving weekend. Just gotta figure out what to do about cup holders now. Fold down center console has no cup holders.
