new to the forum and plan to become a full on member. heres what ive got so far. i took a 76 k5 that i traded for and tore the body off the frame, and just set my 67 pickup cab on it. havent fought it enough to see what im gonna have to do to make it all bolt up. decided to call it a night cause of the lack of light and long day. Just wondering if anyone here has done this yet and could shine some light my way to make sure im not gettin in to deep

never done it, but over at 67-72chevytrucks.com look up "mudder" he did it. I am sure he will give you any info you need. Good Luck.

got my 14bff disc brackets from DIY4X today. i must say i am thoroughly impressed with the product and service i recieved. i got the drivers side wheel off and tore into it. everything went so smoothly.not as expected.lol. put new calipers up front and just carried the old front ones to the rear, with new rotors and pads. ill do the passenger side tomorrow when there's more light out, i also tore the diff cover off the 14 bolt to see what gears it had. open 4.10s . now i just need to decide on what locker to go with. this is my first 4wd. whats worked best for most?

i have more pictures of the swap. from ripping the blazer tub off to setting the truck cab on. but they are on a different camera. ill get them up as soon as i can. it was a pretty straight forward. one thing i did different from what ive seen is i didnt change the mounts on the frame. i just modified the cab to fit the existing mounts. the rear cab mounts had to be moved 1 1/4'' outward.once i got the rear done i just drilled up through the bracket and made the new hole in the cab, braced it and called it good. as far as the core support mounts go they have to be made because they fall around 4-5''s shy from lining up in the holes. if theres any other ?'s feel free.

Sounds good ya if you can post some pics i bent my frame and im looking to do some thing different i really like the earlier cab.

Lookin good. Cant wait to see the finished product. Me and my step-dad put a '72 cab on a '79 shorbed bed frame. We left the 79 stepside on it. Ill try and find a pic for those that want to see.

progress update:
went to pick n pull today and found the only xj in the lot.kinda surprised to not find more. popped it open and the upper steering column was already removed. i didnt even need any tools to get the intermediate shaft off just a good tug. gotit home heated it up and cleaned, greased and installed.

the splined part fit perfect on my steering gear box. the upper DD section i had to make a little spacer part and it bolted right in. easy install took no time at all and works awesome

next on the list is to get the clutch all worked out... what all do i need to hook up a hydraulic clutch setup on my sm465..id like to go this route if possible..i work for napa so parts i can get, i just need to know what part off of what car to get? any help would be appreciated

I like the truck bronc. I may either do the stepside bed with no outer fenders or just flatbed it.

Avery as far as doing the xj swap into ur k10 let me know if you get the parts and I'll help u or next time I'm at pick n pull I'll grab u one. I got mine for 12 bucks.

I'm hunting for some Chevy 56" rear springs or some Ford 57" springs so next time I'm at Pick N' Pull I'll look for an XJ too.

That one looks easy, I have 72 Blazer body on a 95 P/U chassis, had to be shortened and the fire wall had to be taken from the p/u and fit to the 72.

It's been awhile since my last update. So here goes. Got the new bellhousing in finally. Had to come from new York. Got that in and dropped the engine in mounted the master cylinder and had a hose made to go to the slave. Vacuum bled it. Seems to work as planned. We'll see. I should have it wired and plumbed this week. I'll update more and put some pics up.
