Shawn submitted a new Build:

69' Camaro

Found a good deal on a 69 Camaro with a really nice body and paint. Engine is mostly stock but that will be changing.

I know it's blasphemy but a 69 Camaro is probably the one thing that would make me consider giving up my Blazer. Beautiful cars.

Yeah its my favorite year of that car. 67-68 is a very close 2nd. Trying not to do too much on it until the K5 is back up and running which has been put on hold way too many times over the years.

Its been awhile! Hoping to have another K5 build thread up soon. Agree on the turbos!
so whats the plan?
GM crate LSX 376 B15
Haltech Elite 2500 ECU with DBW option
Twin snails (not sure what size yet, maybe Precision 6466)
Built 4L80E automatic
Built Ford 9" from Quick Performance
4 link in the rear
Better subframe/suspension in the front
Bigger brakes
Mini Tub in the rear to fit 335 wide tires and larger slicks
Has to beat my old 4 cylinder record of 1003whp in power and be quicker than its time of 9.7 @ 5280 feet (in Denver).

It took me awhile to get there. So much harder up here compared to sea-level. I have video of it somewhere.

Gorgeous car!
Thanks!

I can't knock an Ecotec since it holds the worlds 4 cyl record at 6.2 seconds @ 222mph but you rarely see them hitting big numbers at the track compared to all the Honduhs. This was a 4G64 in an Evolution. If I had to do it all over again, would have stuck with 4G63.

VW off the emissions
Those Germans create enough problems as it is! :)

I hate those motors since I never cared for Toyota. I can make more power and and torque with a lsx with less boost plus it will sound better.

I agree, I was just messing with you. It's (sadly) been done already anyways. This one even looks a little like yours...

It's just so wrong.

Yeah that is stupid not to mention it devalues it when you mismatch the engine brand.

Looks like a nice car, I have a 67 and a 69 in the shop now getting full pro-touring treatment.
Nice. Thats what I'm working towards. Only thing holding me back is time and money.
Hey it worked in Tokyo drift.
That was a mustang with a what sr20t?
Probably. The new F&F charger has an LS1 these day. Mopar fans won't be happy.

Weird swaps are way more common now I think. It's hard to find a fox body without an LSX in it anymore for example...

The swaps that tick people off are LS into a Supra, Anything other than a rotary into an RX-7, and a 2JZ in place of American muscle.
