    700r4 - 82\' to 88\' parts interchange

Can anyone tell me if the 4x4 output shaft and Diesel governer assembly from an early 82' 27 spline tranny will fit into a 88 onwards unit. I am going to rebuild a 88 onwards unit to eliminate a lot of the problems of the earlier transmission. It seems to be a lot easier to find a 2wd gas spec unit to use as a core so I need to change the parts over to suit my 4wd diesel Blazer.

You want the 89-92 version, it has the aux valve body (89 and newer), 29 tooth sprag (89 and newer), thicker roller bearing (87 and newer). I cut this section from another post I wrote the other day. As far as the output shaft it'll interchange, The AA shaft for the TH350 to 700r4 conversion is the same shaft for 82-92 and mabye even the 4L60E. I would also use the govenor out of the diesel, it will fit.
