So I found out my case vent tube on my 700R4 broke off. I took off the transfer case shifter and screwed in a sheet metal screw to get out what left of the plastic was lodged in. It worked perfectly. Now I want to tap it to screw in a metal tube. Has anyone did this before? If so do you have a part number or where I could find a metal threaded tube for the vent? Thank you

Are you concerned about dropping any metal into the trans? Wouldn’t be easy to just press something back in?
Was gonna put some grease on the tap so hopefully it would catch all the shavings. Hate to put in a plastic tube and for it to break again
So I couldn't find andything small or close to the plastic tube size with threads. But when u was at Napa I seen the brake lines right behind the counter which is the same size so I'm going to sand it down a bit and fit it in.
