71 C20 gets a 5.3

All the ECM wires reached without a problem? That's pretty good. I picture having to put mine under the hood, as nice as I can make it.

Yep. With about 4 or 5" to spare. I brought them through the firewall through the clutch rod hole, didn't even have to pull any connectors apart. I have seen a few people run a bracket on the center of the firewall behind the engine.

I'll take some more pictures of the wiring next time I work on it. I don't have a grommet/seal on it now but have one I am looking into next time I do a summit order. I have heard people running the same PSI harness as I am using the seal that came with the harness. I recommend their harness if you are doing the swap. Great customer service and a well thought out harness

oh ok, I thought you had found a grommet with the weird shape of the clutch hole. That damn thing is the only hole I don't have an "cover" plan for. lol I don't thing the factory had one either, just some strong tape.

They had a plastic one for a few years that would warp and fall out. Then something like this in the later years. Clutch delete plate or clutch rod plate.

30-1910 is the boot gasket from LMC, looks the same as the other players (brothers, classicparts, etc) Page 140

Got a little time to mess with the truck today. My retro sound radio isn't making sound so I played with that with no luck. Also worked on the roof, the PO had something mounted up there? Got it welded up and put some new seam sealer in the drip rail too. Sitting in primer right now, need to spend some time smoothing it all out and hit it with some rattle can.

looking good Mike!
I love that frontend!

No glue or crimping they just push onto the seam. You can kinda see the teeth in the picture below. They do fit all around but are really close. You have to kinda stretch it as you go around pushing it on.

The day after I got the new front end on I rolled it into a post on my way to work.... We have a manual gate on our driveway thats on a slight hill. I dont have a parking brake right now so I put the passenger front tire into a rock to hold it while I open the gate. Opened the gate, turned around and watched it crash into the gate pole. No real damage, just a huge ding in the new grill and a little one in the bumper. Starting the day off right

Started putting a 31 gallon tbi k5 tank in the back. Moved the rear crossmember back about 10"and it slipped in. Put it in backwards this keeps the filler on the drivers side and makes it so the fuel lines will clear the bed crossmember. Downside is I loose the 3" of departure angle from the slant of the tank. Mounted the filler in one of the boxes. Still need a few fuel line adapters and I can put it all together.

I would assume departure angle is not really an issue with this truck?
