Got a 72 Blazer that I'm tinkering with. Got a 90 2wd 3/4t that the 6.2 locked up on. Before I send it to the boneyard I plan on scalping any useable pieces that I can.

Modifications are expected.

So I'm looking at what I can scalp. I'm wondering about the braking, steering, and suspension specifically, and to a lesser degree, the wiper, cooling, and A/C system.

Hydro-Boost?
Steering (wheel to box)?
Wiper system (can it be adapted)?

Hydro-Boost...maybe. Take a look in the 1st Gen Forum, there's an excellent writeup on the hydroboost conversion that will tell you how a successful one was done.

As for the other stuff, you could probably cobble it together somehow to make it work but it's not that hard to find the correct parts.....either barter or trade or junkyard.

If it were me, I'd offer up parts to the later model K5 crowd and try to make a few bucks...then use that cash to buy what you actually need. The "interchange" on the '69 - '91 K5s is pretty good, but more in the realm of driveline, axles and suspension. When it comes to the body parts and systems there are enough changes between early and late trucks that it's probably not worth burning hours trying to convert them.

ps. Where is Canon City? If it's anywhere on the west coast, you should have great parts trucks sitting in the local junkyards. It's one of the things I miss most now that I'm living in the salt-zone.

Canon City is about 50 miles south of Colorado Springs. The 70 is complete except for an engine and radiator (have a fresh engine from another project), but since I have the 90 I'm curious as to what can be used as upgrades. For instance, I like the tilt column, and intermittent wipers would be a good upgrade. That little work light in the engine bay would come in handy also.
