Has anyone used the lowback seats from any other GM vehicles from the 60s/70s to swap in to their 73-75 blazers?

Prices are pretty outrageous for the original 73-75 lowback blazer seats.

Looking for lowback seats that I can bolt onto 76-80s highback seat tracks and achieve a similar look.

I tried the search function on here but didn’t have much luck.

Thanks!

You might try looking at 70's vans.

The buckets GM used in most cars '66-'72 were basically the same, except they gained headrests in '68-'69. And because of the Chevelle/GTO/etc crowd, they are expensive too. Camaros and Novas used a different seat, but again...$.

No help on price but you can get aftermarket seats like PRP in a low back. At least you get a nice seat for your money.

What is your definition of outrageous? What's the high end you are willing to pay if you found some?

Most of what I’ve seen has been $400-$600 for seats that need to be recovered. This isn’t going to be a high end restoration. Just going for the stock(ish) look. I’m not a fan of how the highback seats look on the 73-75s since the complete top comes off.

That's about what the 60's seats often go for as well. My '69 buckets cost me close to $500 iirc, and they need recovered and some trim work too. Although that did include the tracks and specific floor supports I needed to use them in my Impala.

Have you looked at the utility seats for 72 blazer/jimmy . Got mine for 200.00

My 76 chalet has low back seats,my 68 camaro had low back seats,,I think the high back will stop the whip lash if you get hit in the back..

That’s what I was afraid of. Thanks for the feedback.

yes they are differant, wider and identical from side to side. The bolt pattern to the floor is about 2 inches longer then the sport buckets. When you bought your blazer/jimmy you could order one or two seats. I guess if you didn't want a passenger, you just ordered one seat. Another term for these seats were "fatboy"

I can believe that I threw away perfect blue vinyl low back seats from my 74 blazer.
Don't feel bad, my dad threw out the entire original (front seats, console and backseat) of my '77 Blazer to install an RV bench seat for comfort. I am now spending a ton to find new seats. The years are a little mismatched but it will look better at least.

I threw my back seat away 30 plus years ago out of the 74

Found a nice red one about 18 years ago in a junk yard.
It’s still red. Original was Saddle.
