Will the 73-74 buckets fit in a 69-72 blazer? I have found a really clean set but they are for a 73. The seats look almost exactly the same. Only the covers at the top and the mounts are a little different looking. I have mounts for a 71. Will these mounts bolt to these frames. I would take these apart and buy the proper foams and covers. I have heard the frames are the same and you just switch brackets. Anyone?

The drive side looks about right for fit, but the passenger side looks like the mounts are connected in the front. If yours had bucket seats originally they will probably fit. But if you had the bench seat then you will have to drill new holes in the floor to access the extra cage nuts welded to the frame. You can see if they are there by looking under the truck. The holes for the two types of seats are pretty close to each other. Go for it.

I have a Blazer with original buckets. I want to make sure the frames are the same. So if I switch the brackets and change the foam and covers they will be the same seats.

If you're going to spend the money for all new foam inserts and covers, you'd might as well try to find "correct" 69-72 seats. You won't be saving much money with those '73+ seats given how much work they need....

73 and up seat frames 'look' the same but their not.
They will not be a direct bolt in.

They will work with some drilling though...

Have a set right here for less than you'll pay for padding. :pimp:

Maybe Ill just go with the correct year seats. I wish they reproduced these. I can't seem to find any that have no rust on the frames. I have even considered buying some scat seats and fabing up some kind of bracket to bolt it to my mounts so I don't have to drill any new holes.

Yea, you can sometimes find the right seats on ebay. (That's where I got mine). New foams are super expensive so try to find some that don't need replacing and just recover them. My foams looked like they had squirrels nesting in them so they had to go.

I had my pair of seats sent from across country by UPS and it wasn't that much. (~$120). This was from Minessota to California so your probably much less than that. Finding a box to ship in is the only real issue and U-haul usually has big boxes you can stuff those into.

If anyone's looking for seats still, here's an ebay link that includes the console.
