I also had to grind the pin down to fit in my spring perch. I'm assuming that's because I have a 2 3/4 in axle because it fits fine in the rear perch

It seems like a 50/50 shot on whether or not the pin fits into the pad on the axle.
If you got it to fit, all good then.
And I always trim the excess off above the nut after it's tightened down. I only leave a little bit for the "just in case" scenario.
A cut-off wheel or hacksaw leaves it decent enough to take it apart if necessary.

gotcha, thanks. I didn't want to cut a hole in the plate unless it was completely necessary

When I put my springs on, I noticed the same thing...back okay front took a little drill persuasion.
When you trim the bolt I like to leave at a minimum threads the diameter of the stud.

will do, I also have to reorder the front spring bushings as they are 2 inch instead of 3. going to just send those back to superlift and get the greaseable ones I just found out about at ord

Old steering box bolted up just fine but with kind of a hodgepodge of bolts, some with different threads? Didn't notice when I took it off. This blazer's still not done telling its story of past abuses and injustice. I'll get a new one. Hoping to have front axle installed on frame this weekend

That box was off at one time...
My 69 didn’t have any Flanged bolts, seems like those should be the only ones used

These are the outer hub bearings, the one on the left has a round ring type thing sitting on top of the bearing that the other hub didnt have. I'm guessing it's part of the locker assembly and somebody just forgot to put the one back in? Also, one hub has recessed areas around the holes for the lug studs, one doesn't. Ideas?

That ring was on the original hub locks, and the spring seats on that. I leave them in if I have them. They “kinda” keep the grease by the bearing

no input on the hub

Thinking someone got an unmatched junkyard hub at some point to do a repair.
Years ago I had a hard time aligning the front right side of my 70 el Camino, turned out someone installed a camero hub...

so looking at my old warn lockers, one is missing the tiny retaining bolt that keeps the actuating gear? (sorry, didn't google "parts of a locker" yet) from just spinning off. im thinking i just need new ones anyway. i was going to get opinions on those as don't have any experience(obviously) with these. the old ones are warn

I am not sure what part you are referring to at the moment.
But if you go searching, it sounds as if you are working on the locking hub, not a differential locker.
This difference will make the results of your search change.

yeah, sorry, locking hub not differential locker. . still learning albeit slowly. its a tiny bolt that keeps you from being able to remove the gear attached to the spring that engages the axle. without it, the gear/spring just spins off the hub cover. I haven't found anything searching for exploded views and the service kits that warn has don't appear to have them. they look pretty old and it seems like it would be easier to just replace them
