74 Blazer Help Me Keep It Real

there are no full vert blazers in any partsyard anywhere within driving distance of me...they just don't exist in the parts yard world

Do you have a list of things that you're looking for?

Since I bought my 74 earlier this year, I realized how hard it was to come by certain parts so I have been trying to collect as much as possible.

The only things I can think of right now are those door shim / pads and the door sill rear part
I am sure if I think about it and look the Blazer over, some others will come up

Out of (10) what shape/condition are you looking for in the rear sill plates?

I'd like them to be 8 - 10 I can't believe nobody makes them...they would be so simple to reproduce today

I saw an NOS one on ebay once and he wanted $175 for it. I just couldn't do it because I was working on the Blazer and throwing everything into it.

I won't pay a ridiculous price...I thought they would never make the grill or the inside door wood finish panels...but they did. One day they will punch out that part. Maybe I will call them and ask if they could use a scan of mine.

I've looked everywhere for some and have had no luck. The majority of those are always beat up. The driver side typically has dents in them from the seat belt and the passenger side is usually mangled from people getting in & out of the truck.

this may be a part that will have to be aftermarket...they are like thick tin foil

as for the door strikers pads I'd love to have a new original set, but I may think about the motorcity set...they look just like the real thing. I just can't believe there aren't NOS parts of those by the hundreds out there somewhere

From what I have seen, 76-77 blazers used the same rear sill plates and are typically in better condition because they have the shoulder belts instead of the lap belts.

did they stop using them in 1976 with the 3rd Gen Blazers?
Sorry, I didn't back to you. I just got back into town.
To answer your question, to the best of my knowledge, yes GM stop using the alignment pads in 1976 since the blazer came with full doors and half cab.

I just had a crazy thought. Let check something.

Well, that was a bust. Apparently, the Camaro parts are not the same but the pieces are called "door alignment wedge kit".

I'll dig through some parts I saved off a '71 K10 Suburban,I kept the door hinges and other related hardware, and a lot of interior parts--whether I can FIND it or still have it,I am not sure..

thanks appreciate the effort, looks like these will be difficult

I looked through my piles of parts, all I have is some door hinges (not sure but I think they are for the '71 suburban clam shell tailgate ?)--and the front door striker plates, and one shim, and I'm pretty sure the strikers wont fit past a 1972 model...:(...

I did find a lot of things I forgot I had too--a NP203 to TH350 adapter, other parts for a '71 Burb,white sun visors,glove box door,ash tray,defroster vents and kick panel door flaps,shift boot for a NP-205,window crank handles,the removeable floor hump for a TH350 ,dome lights,a wiper motor (which might fit my '82 G10),and various other interior things...and a very seized up pre-72 alternator,a used water pump,some brakets,P/S hose,etc..:screwy:..stuff I haven't looked at in years...
