I have not been able to work on the truck in a while but since the last time I made a post I did get the firewall in primer. It looks great I still need to lay the color on it but since I got a new job it has been taking up all of my time. Hopefully I will be able to get some stuff done sooner or later. Hopefully I can grab a camera and show you guys the progress as soon as I get a min.

I got me a good heater so hopefully this winter I will be able to start putting things back together. My plan before the weather starts getting cold is to finish the dam firewall. I got a nice kerosene heater so I will be able to work without icicles hanging from my nuts. The plan is to get the firewall brake booster master cylinder and heater box in color before the cold hits. Then its all just putting it all back together. The status rite now is the all of the above parts that I just mentioned are in primer. So over the winter there will be alot of welding and fitting of the bed panels and just patching up some stuff so I can get it all back together and ready to be driven and painted soon after. But lets not get ahead of our selfs that fast.

I was able to change the body bushings under the cab this weekend. i used the engine hoist and a big ass hook unbolted the cab and lifted it rite up. I por 15 as much as i was able to reach i still have to weld the new cab crossmember back in and cover up the gapping hole in the floor. i will get some pictures up when I can.

are you just using regular flat sheet metal to cover the hole in the floor or are you using a panel with the bends in the match the factory floor?

Im using flat steel seeing that it will be covered buy the carpet. Im also ordering a headliner with speakers in it and a radio pod because we all know that when you put an aftermarket deck in out trucks it looks like moose cock because it hangs over the dash.

I got the gaping hole in the floor covered up. still no pics yet will get them b4 the wek is over. Next on the list is to finish the dam front floors and rockers then I can do door skins and mount the quaters.

the reason i asked about the floors is because if you use metal the has beads or ribs rolled in it, the panel will be stronger. who are you ordering the radio pod off of? i need one for mine but can't find anybody who makes them

So heres all the progress. I got the firewall in primer, drivers side quarter door and fender hung.I got the brake booster and master cylinder in primer. I also put the body bushings under the cab and put in the cab crossmember that I fabed up ant patched the huge hole in the floor. I also got the rad support on and am in the process of fitting as many new parts as possible before I paint it all so I dont scratch the fresh paint.

The yellow primer is a nasty etching primer its Dupont vario primer. The green primer in PPG DP epoxy primer. I striped the firewall to metal so I put the etch primer on it. I have off of work 2day and 2marrow so hopefully I will be able to get the fire wall in color. I also cut off the roof skin and found more rust. Nothing that POR 15 cant help. I have another skin from a junkyard truck but mine was in bad shape . 2marrow I plan on POR 15 the roof and tacking the new skin on. Then I want to take the nose back off and get the firewall in color. I also want to paint the inside of the fenders the header panel and the inside of the cap since im going to have the color in the gun I mite as well shoot it. Hopefully plenty of pictures 2marrow

So I didn't get it all done in one day but I did take some before pictures I did all the prep work today so I can do the spraying tomorrow.
