'78 K10 Build

I just read 183 pages of the life of this truck and thought to myself - that's one bad ass truck. Saddest ending ever. Specially when I saw the for sale ad here.

I know this thread hasn't been replied to in a couple months old, but I hope you're kicking yourself in the ass for selling it. lol Your truck just became the basis and motivation behind mine.

haha

Martin

As well as my first post here. :waytogo:

When you were doing the suspension, you moved the rear axle back 1", but said you wish you had done 1.5" - do you still think that? why did you think that and would .5" really make that much difference?

I'll miss it cause it was a good looking truck, but there are just as many capable trucks out there just like it. It wouldn't take much at all to make an exact copy of it. I will build another truck or K5 someday, I promise. :)

I am glad you liked what I did. Not kicking my own ass yet, but I probably will once I see it after toyossan gets his own touch to it. It's going to be even more badass.

Not sure... can't remember

I think I'll probably look for a hydro clutch 4 speed K30 for the next rig so there is less work involved the next go around. Or buy an already built rig and go from there since that's a lot cheaper. I'd still like a K5 though, who knows.

I just know I really would like to run a 73-87 with hubcaps and steelies again. Best look ever.

The steelies and hubcaps are what got me. I saw your pics in the "How will my k5 look..." thread and followed to this thread. It was perfect. Not too big, highly capable, very classic looking. So many people now days get away from a factory look when making factory a little bit better is usually better looking.

My drivetrain should be a little different than yours. I'm hoping to run a 6.2 / 6spd auto and all that fuel injection stuff but I'll save all the details for my build thread. :D

I also just finished that 160+ page picture/lift/wheel/tire thread and this is still my favorite truck out of the whole thing.

Me too. I need to find something to replace it. Not sure how Amanda would feel about that though...
