78 sub build (sub is gone)

steering setup looks good mr. matt. i will definitely be going the same route. gonna be hitting you up for advice when the time comes.

hey just a ?. If you have both hi steer arms, y not run high steer.
I need to get a 1' spacer for under both arm so the tie rod will clear the springs, also the tie rod would need to be shorter not enough adjustment in the stock tie rod. One thing always leads to another it is a future mod that i will be doing, once the front suspension is moved forward and everything is checked for clearance. With going to a more off set main leaf it will put the tie rod closer to the arch of the spring and may hit.

Are you almost ready for the front spring hanger and kit? I can get you the hanger and shackle mount. No track bar mount yet though.

Looks good by the way:waytogo:

Yes sir I'm ready got a new rig/ build coming up so i can use it on there.

Got the track bar or ( pan hard bar) mounted today it drives so nice its unbelievable. With the combination of the hydro and the track bar there is no play in the steering well or spongy feeling and no more axle shift side to side. When i was mocking it up just turning the tires side to side the axle shifted 2 inches at least side to side.
Thanks again to Twisted Engineering for a super great product fit and finish are spot on.
I still need to flex it out and check for interference with the oil pan and add bump stops but i think i Will have no major issues.

Freaking awesome Matt. When you said you were putting a panhard bar on it I thought you were going with the rear axle. Glad it made a big difference, I know the one on the rear of my 63 C10 made a huge difference.

looks good matt. thanks for letting me drive it last week. the steering felt solid.

did the hydro setup and the panhard both go on at the same time?

just wondering if you tried the steering out before the panhard bar went on.

no problem.
Yes i added the hydro then a couple weeks later the pan hard they both added to the solid feeling. The hydro took out a lot of play and wondering on the road. The pan hard bar maid it drive straighter and feel even tighter especially when cornering and turning no more frame and axle flexing while turning. When i was mocking up the pan hard mount the axle shifted 2 inches or more side to side by just turning the wheels lock to lock.

wow, nice build.

Going to be starting on my 91 burb here soon (hope to have it home Sunday) and start my trail rig build. I will be taking note on your build, some good information there.

Keep up the great work! :waytogo:

my k5 does that crap, its been getting worse (stupid extended shackles) now i know where to get one. thanks!

Thanks guys and good luck on the projects..

I sold the tow rig and the new k30 build is lagging so I'm using the sub to pull my toy hauler this next week to glamis. The plan is to wheel it all week and tow the toy hauler back home HOPEFULLY all goes well. Doing prep on it currently for the trip.

You guys better take some pictures! Is that guy with the big crew cab going with ya'? What's his name, Lou?

Well made it there and back no issues.

Yes the guy with the crew went but hes raffling off the blue crew cab he built another crew cab If interested i can send you the info.

Not much to add but i think your truck has one of the best possible all around suspencion setups on it! I still get all excited when i see the cross over/track bar setup in the front! Cant help but imagine its a pleasure to drive now!
