78 sub build (sub is gone)

Thanks to all that liked it, followed the build and shared in the grieving over its demise.

New avatar and Sig on the way just got home with the new rig, the wheels are turning and ideas are running ramped.

You can't leave us hanging like that... even a crappy cell phone pic will suffice. :)

Damn. How come we end up like this? We build these rigs with a support group cheering us on from a dark room in the back of a house. Than when it comes time to get rid of them. No one wants to fork out a half rack to keep it alive. This sub builders anonymous is brutal. I didn't even know yours was up for sale though. I was in the same boat a couple months ago. I'm on a different path now too.

Oh yeah. Wheres the pics?

Here are some teaser pic's not the best but you get the point i wanted a full vert no smog blazer or i was going to build a tube chaise this deal fell in my lap and i could not pass it up. Had to take my axles and front hangers to install axles under it to get it home.

I traded a divorce mount 205 t case for the blazer :D

DAYUM! Thats gonna be bad azz. Cant wait for the new build thread. Sorry to see your burb go. That was the 1st build thread I read on CK5. Good luck on the new build.

I am truly sad to see that 'burb go, it was sweet as hell. Gave me alot of suspension stuff to think about. I couldn't ever part with mine, even for good money, too many memories. Good luck on the Blazer though, that will be fun!

Thanks for the words..

It was a decision i had been talking about for over 2 years i always wish i had started with a blazer for size reasons. That said i think mine was unique the suspension pushed back and quarter panels the way it was and worked awesome. I just want to get into more challenging wheeling and the sub is just a little to big with too many open seats i always turn into a school bus.

I am finishing up my 86 K30 crew cab dually before i start on the blazer when i do i will start the new build thread.

The dually is getting the BBC from the sub and a 4l80e/205 with stand alone ecm, or i just scored a NV4500 so which ever one ends up in the dually the other will go in the blazer.

Well thanks for documenting the panhard rod. I have been considering that and it will be on my list now. Just makes too much sense and now that you have auditioned it, I am in! I used to have an F-350 with a panhard rod and wondered why it needed that, or maybe why my Suburban didn't. When I was replacing front springs I had my wife turning the wheel for me with the front on jackstands and I could see it move side to side.

What you gonna call yourself now!? mnstrblzr? Somebody's prolly got that... lol

I'm in when you start that thread

Well I hope you do the right thing and stick with a chevy. The Toyota thing is like the Jeep thing, and I still don't understand.
