I need to get the sliding glass out of the hardtop rear window. I just need to replace the inside felt so I'm hoping I don't' need to pull out the whole frame. Anyone ever do this?

I haven't ever done the job which you are looking to do, but I would believe that you have to take the whole assembly out in order to let the aluminum frame flex open enough to get the glass out. Of course, pulling the deflector glass off and the divider bar off is necessary, I believe.

I will have to find the write up I came across from someone that did what you are asking. It made sense on how it was approached. I for one would pull the framed unit out and then reinstall, however, there is an art to doing this ... you can watch the Precision Replacement Parts Video on how they installed the gasket .. but you have to watch it several times to pickup some of the hints they don't show specifically but watching their hands you will see them .. I know .. I ended up using two gaskets on one side to learn how to get it in .. then you need the correct locking strip trim tool to get that to fit into the sealing groove.

I will see if I can find the information on how to replace the slider window slide felt .... without removing the center bar or wing windows.
