where do we get four core radiator cushions from for the 81-87 trucks ? i need some for the four core radiator i need to put in the 81 since i am done swapping in the 350 and headers with 2.5" straights and just working on little stuff on it today to get it fired up, figured i could cut bottom cushions ends off and top ones i dunno yet,.

thanks for anything

A salvage yard should be full of them.

I think I saw them at Pep Boys in the common replacement parts section. You know, the stuff in the red packaging like dome lights, window switches, etc...

GM should be able to get them for you as well, but be aware that the upper radiator mounts are different too on the wider radiator. You can modify the smaller ones, but I'd prefer ones that "look" right.

tried GM first thing this morning and their puter shows all being same 81-up 5-30 series, which is impossible but is what puter shows..,.

hmmm.....

Yeah, they are smoking crack. There are at least three different "mounts".

I've got the "tall" style, but a two core radiator. There are the "short" ones that accomodate a radiator about 2" "shorter" than the "typical" V8 radiator, and then there are the large ones, same height as the typical V8 ones, but wider for the four rows.

I should take my parts manual to work with me /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Did you ask for a BBC radiator mount in something like an '85 1 ton?

just take a die grinder to the smaller ones , <carefully> i put a 4 core in my truck with the crate engine and didnt think it would fit but it does and you cant even tell unless you really look hard .

you can tell this 4 core was "coaxed" to fit cuz of the modified upper brackets, hehe

what year is your rad support ?

mine is an 81 single headlight . but now it is severly modified on the outside ends /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
