82-91 Center console cup upgrade

Anyone have any thoughts on this? This is on my 82 Blazer. I have a guy who can 3D print some of these out of some thicker aluminum.

Any interest in purchasing one? Not sure on price, but could be upwards of $100.

I don’t have a center console so I wouldn’t need one but if I did I’d want the cup holders to be deep instead of the typical 3” or so.

That said, if you’re selling you need a vendor membership.

Agreed on the deeper is better - the 3” deep pockets are damn near useless if the trucks in motion.
I spilt a few cups of coffee when I had a K5 with a center console.

Thanks for the info on the vendor. Not currently selling, but if I do, I’ll certainly look into that. These are actually 4 inch deep cups, which does help. But I agree, not perfect just a big upgrade from milk carton slots.

I’ve thought about printing my own version with the round cup holders too, I just need to CAD it up and do it.

I actually stole the idea from an old picture on this site. Couldn’t find it again though. A guy online sells ones for the old style consoles -through 1980 I think. But he doesn’t make them for the newer milk carton consoles.

I like the idea of better cup holders, however I have gotten used to mine and know what will fit, as well as putting little things in the mail slot at the rear.

Now, that being said, do you know if the screw holes would be inside of the original footprint of the factory insert?
(In case I went back to the old crap.)

Cuz I am definitely curious about trying one of these, as I see a step for different diameter drinks, , correct?

The drilled holes in that cup holder are under the original unit and there are step downs in that cup holder, but they make different versions.

You’d be better off going to the 14-18 jumper seat console in silverados. They have the 3 wide and openings for the handle so it sits flat. You could have 2 open mugs side by side!

Another of the newer console jump seat in square. Seems to fit really well and looks awesome. Can find those pretty cheap.

It would look great if you masked the top and painted the perimeter - just like the original piece. I would be afraid of the vinyl paint failing from metal bottles, so this is better. The original piece is molded in color with the inside painted black.
