83 ground up blazer build

As soon as you have to load that thing up for a trip you will wish you had a more simpler cage. Dont get me wrong its looks awesome and defintily will do what its ment to protect. But for eas of loading and getting to stuff, it's gonna blow. Mine does atleast. Might not for you.:waytogo:

Thanks for the complements guys. :D

73REDBLAZE I decided to go ahead and stick with a single seat for the back rather than a small bench, I was running into head clearance issues with the cage, only way around it was to lower the seat. I ended up going lower than the frame rails with the seat. And a bench even a small one just won't fit.

Well I hope not. I have spent a lot of time planning where things will go when finished but this is my first time with a project this extensive so I am sure there are things I am missing.:doah: I am sure however that when I am done, If these things ever are really done. That there will be things that I want to change.

Lost a couple 4 posts when the server crashed so these are a couple repost.:D

Installed weld nuts on the rear spring hanger.

Thanks man. :D As you already know. Fabbing chat takes loooottts of time. It just doesn't seem like there are enough hours in the day sometimes. Especially as slow as I seem to be at it. :haha::haha:

Had a rain day today so spent some time in the garage. Started on the fuel cell skidplate / cradle. Started off with 1 1/2"x1/8" square tubing, for the frame.

I can testify to the stoopid hrs i know that took.. people have no idea sometimes how the simplest thing can take forever.. i musta had a 1/2 dozen of my cage bars that took ALL day to do just the one tube..

anyway, you do nice work... i really, really like the skid thing... subscribed... i'd love to somehow integrate the front of something like that into my rear shock mounting...

Been kinda slow on the blazer lately, but got the fuel cell cradle almost done. This is basically it, just need the alum skidplate on the bottom of the square tubing.

Although at this pace, you may be ready for Blazer Bash 2012. It's my goal to make it that year. I think it would be awesome for us in the Kansas area to make a presence. What do ya think?

That would be cool. Gives me a date to shoot for. Blazer Bash is at the top of my list of places to go when it is finished.
