84 K10 cheap trail rig

Got the rear axle pulled out.

The old rear springs are actually 50"...

So, the replacement 52" that were supposed to just bolt up... nope.

And the guy that had it before me chopped the frame right at the rear spring mount. So, we have to add some frame in order to move the rear spring mount back as we do the shackle flip. Going to do some reinforcing back there also.

So, the front of the frame needs to be tweaked too. There just isnt enough room to move the front spring mount forward to make the 52" springs work.

Not sure how everyone is able to just move the mount forward "a set of bolt holes". Because I need to go forward two sets to make the springs work.

Got something else in the works though to make them fit.

So, since the front spring mount of the front springs had to be moved forward to fit the 52" springs... a little drop bracket action was also done. Get a little more lift in the front at the same time.

Suspension is complete.

Bead locks are welded up also.

Transmission is in.

Time for the tcases to go in.

I'm slackin:haha:

I always get excited when I see a post up on ur threads, then I go wait wait chill out, hes not gonna have any pics anyways, I may as well go back to coloring with my crayolas... Carry on :D

Suspension is all done.

Trans and tcases are in.

Drive shafts and crossmember/skidplate is up next.

And lastly... need to de-wood the "bed"

Other than reworking the bed area, which is put on hold, and mounting the 44s to the bead locks... it's almost ready.

Probably some fender trimming .

One more poser shot.

Well, it sure is loose in the suspension. Going to add some shocks to see if it helps.

Got a coolant leak from the previous owners half ass attempt of removing the heater core.

The proportional valve is leaking also. Need to get another one from a junk yard. Not paying dealer ship prices.

Time to put the bead locks together with the tires.

Figure out a cheap way to paint it. I am thinking my home electric sprayer and some black paint.

Also... the small tires and both tcases in low... tops out at like 10mph. :-)

So, I went outside and painted the beadlock rings.

Got a little ADD while waiting for them to dry enough to paint the other side.

So, I attacked with the spray can. I am afraid to see it in day light.

I thought I was going to take some **** for my hoopty ride.

It says it all in the title, cheap trail rig. Plus that previous paintjob was fugly. It doesn't have to be pretty to get dirty, and bang against rocks and trees
