84 K10 cheap trail rig

Damn, that's a lot of work.

Got one done.

So, I had to move the Thing to finish cutting the grass...

For thrown together, I am pretty happy. Made it to the deck of the trailer with the rear tires still on the ground.

Finished up the beadlocks with enough time to bolt them on the truck.

Front clearance looks good. Major interference with the front of the rear wheel well. Off it will come!

Need to grind down my front calipers some more. Little rubbing on the rim.

I'll get some better pictures this weekend.

Had to grind the calipers a little more. Must be some differences in the rims I used to have to these ones. But it was minor compared to what I did last time.

Next is to trim the front of the rear fenders and the front of the front fenders.

Stopped the coolant leak. Brakes are a 1.5 pumper now instead of a 2 pumper.

Just need to add breather lines, a little trans fluid, put in fuel filter and a new air cleaner.

Will be taking it out on Memorial Day!

Did some testing for a good 15-20 minutes in the ditch tonight. Nothing broke and it didnt over heat... and didnt seem to stumble.

Still needs some tweaking here and there, but I think it is Mounds ready (local ORV park).

Still have a problem with filling the trans fluid. Pukes out.. not sure just where though. From what I can see... it looks like mid way up the fill tube. Which makes no sense to me.

Blew a braided brake line yesterday... but replaced it with a rubber one for now.

Fluids are all topped off... greased up. Just need fuel now.

Hole in trans dipstick tube? I had that problem on my '80 th PO left it unsecured and it rubbed on back of head

Thats what I was thinking too. Never heard of that before.

But....

I am the previous owner of the trans and it never leaked. :D

I will add a little more trans fluid Monday morning and call it good for the day. Check it out better next weekend.
