Hey this is my 85 crew cab dually c30


It has a th400 and a 454 in it so its really not driver friendly at highway speeds. I'm thinking of getting a 4l80e and a standalone controller for it so I can drive it on the highway.

The complication comes in here, do I adapt the loud yet bullet proof 205 to it or see how long a np241 will hold up under the pressure of towing. Am I missing a t case option that's out there that's the best of both worlds???

Ohh yea I plan on making it four wheel drive later on down the road.
 
Nuthing wrong with a 241 behind a big block. They put em behind diesels.

Putting a 205 behind a 4l80 is $$$. Either finding a factory adapter or aftermarket.
 
Ok yea I didn't know if the 241 came in bigger trucks. What year 241 should I be looking for if I want to run it behind a 4l80. I have heard of them being in some late 80's early 90's square body suburbans
 
Look for one in a 1989 K20 Suburban. It will have the mechanical speedometer and the 32 spline input.
