85 Jimmy's, always something build.

no likes here...

Trust me, I don't want to have to work... Hahaha. I do need to fund my projects though.

Don't get it too heavy in one giant piece that you can't take it on and off w/o a forklift. Make it in multiple pieces if you need to.

I'll keep that in mind. Maybe make it similar to the bottom crossmember, but in 2 sections.

This is where I'm at right now. Got the doubler in, then decided that I wanted to change the clocking on the 205. It was 1" up, now it's 2.5" up. I'm kinda pissed though, I have to drop the whole thing again b/c of a leak... I'll make the crossmember first, I am not looking forward to dropping it again.

There has been zero progress on the Blazer.
On the Chevelle, I've cut out all the floor that's going to be replaced and have welded in 3/4's of it. I just need to finish the last section. I'm also not willing to pay the $1,600 to get 2 bench seats reupholstered, so I'm doing that myself also right now.
Once I get the floors and seats finished, and the car driveable, I'm going to get back on the Blazer and make the crossmemebers for the doubler, modify the floor for the shifters, and get some driveshafts made. I'd also like to do a rustoleum paint job on the Blazer this summer.
The 454 is nearly complete. I need new rocker arm studs so I can measure for pushrods, a distributor, an injection system, and an accessory setup, then it should be done. Then I just need to find a T56 and get all the stuff to mate it to a BBC for the combo go in.
I want the Chevelle done by powertour 2018. I'd like the Blazer to be driveable by the end of my summer. I graduate from nursing school in December. So after that I'll be making decent money and working 3 12's (which I'm already working, just making shit for money.)

Mmmm......power tour......

One of these days i'll have something worthy of the power tour again. Those were some of the best trips I ever went on.

I haven’t done anything to the blazer in awhile. Right now the doubler is in and the rear crossmember is made. Still need to make the other crossmember, reroute the exhaust, install the triple sticks, and get driveshafts. It’s too cold to do any of that right now.

The Chevelle has made some progress. Cut out and welded in the entire floor pan, pulled the front clip, pulled the 6 cylinder and 3 speed, and pulled the entire front suspension. Plan is to get an entire suspension kit from ridetech, get some wilwood discs for the front and leave the drums on the 10 bolt until I upgrade to a 9”, get a T56 magnum and put it behind the 454, and then put everything back together so I can drive it.

I just graduated from nursing school last month and I take the state board test on the 11th. I’ve already accepted a position as a nurse at the hospital I already work at. So, I should start making enough money to fund both of these projects.

I hear on the cold weather. I was looking forward to the long holiday weekend but the cold temps took all the fun out of doing anything. Progress on both projects sounds good, especially the Chevelle!

Congrats on graduating and the new job! :thumb: I'm sure not having school anymore will make family life easier on all of you.

Congrats and welcome to the profession. You’re the only other nurse I’ve seen on here.

Thanks. I still need to pass the nclex, I failed it the first time. Waiting on another authorization to test code so I can reschedule.

I passed the nclex, have just been working and saving up for a ridetech coilover suspension for the Chevelle. Probably going to attempt to make a crossmember for the doubler next weekend
