87 K30 loaded rare??

Yea, it's confusing because they changed the body style in 88'. I used to think it was the body style that changed in 1987 AND that was the first year of FI, but then I realized all those Chevy commericials I saw as a kid in 1987 of the newer body style were for 88's. :D

Having the TBI means its an '87, and it also being a SRW civilian model truck would only have a G80 as an option unless someone else swapped in a locker of some sort. My '85 K30 has the G80 and its not an M-truck.

By "fully loaded", I take it you mean its got the Silverado or High Sierra package? If so, then I consider the truck to be very rare for it being an '87 with TBI and having the Silverado trim package.

I've been looking for an '87 Silverado K(V)30 for like........forever! Just can't find them anywhere around here. A few members here who have them got them for prices that are above book values. And those who have them are too far from me to buy one from them.

Back to the "rare factor". If the truck is a Scottsdale or Custom Deluxe, its about as common as any other K5, 10 or 20. But not quite as there were more made of the lower trucks. As quoted above, the 30 was put out to work.

I'd say if the truck you have is a Silverado and since it has 4.56 gears, that makes it something I would call even more rare since we don't see many civilian trucks with gears that low. Heck, I'd ask to buy this from you but I'm still paying debt off. There are just too many damn K30's around that I want to purchase and I'm beginning to wonder if these trucks are a curse! :D
 
I've noticed that. But how is the salt situation up there? Are most trucks exposed to lots of cancerous salt?
 
No shiit? If thats the case, next summer we can check around for one up for sale and if the right one pops up, I will pay a plane fare and drive the truck back home. Sound like a deal?

And yeah, road salt use for winter was banned yrs ago. They use a biodegradable antifreeze mixture.
 
Will keep Oregon in mind next year. I've noticed quite a few K30's that were for sale over the years. Nice ones, too.

The highways are using the liquid stuff around here, too, but the city streets still see the salt shiit.
