87 K5 New Oxygen Sensor Install Expeirance

My Search of these Injection SectionPosts/Threads
Has been a Learning Curve,
And I thank You all for The Technical Support And Wisdom

I had a Wandering Idle, A intermitenant CEL,,
Poor Battery Voltage Charging,,
while Driving at low speeds and Stalling at a Stop Light
TBI Unit Rebuilt
TPS ,EGR Valve IAC Valve,, MAP Sensor,
New Distributor,New Coil,, Air Pump!

All Needed replacement
It led me to checking For All of the Sensors operations
and I bought a New replacement Oxygen Sensor

Crawling under Truck and looking for The Wiring PigTail Conection To Disconect It!

I Grabbed The Wire and Found a Flat Spot between the conector and Oxygen Sensor,,,
So I Cut It Near the Flat Spot with Diagonal Wire Cutter's,,,
and Replaced the Sensor, And conected The New Clip Into the Main Harness,

The fact that It was flat was No surprise To Me!!!!
As My Family Bussiness Son Daughter Son N'Law
Rebuilds and Installs Transmissions for a Living
Especialy 4X4's
And this is a common R N R Mistake Done By,,,
>>>P.O. Service,,
Or Employees Who Get in a big hurry to finish ,,,
and Pinch Wire Between the Block and transmission,,,

I know This because
We fixed a Lot of this In the Past,On Jobs,,,,
That were done in-house or previous unknown Servicer's
and On removal Of Trans,,> We would Catch It!!
Well "Some Times "We Missed It"
Think Come Back's!!!

The Flat Spot showed Bare Wire Like a Braid
And was >>>Supper Thin,, Like this Line,,______
and had a few broken pieces of wire,,,
sticking out of a Layer of Insulation,,

It Probaly Had A effect on all of the CEL Light Flickering,,,Touching the Body,Trans, and Frame,
And Bye the way this is My #3-- 700R4 Transmission,,

I checked the Bolts On the Trans,,,
and looked for a GAP between Block N Trans NADA.,,,
Just thought I Would Let you,,, Share My Jouney In TBI Injection !

It was Late,, And I was Tired,,
But Wanted The Felow Members,,
To Look for The Other Reason's to Find Failure
of A Oxygen Sensor's Performance,
due To A Trans/or Engine Swap,

It is worth a look and closer inspection,,

Gotcha. I've "pinched" a wire in my time for sure. Doesn't take long to realize though when it's the wire from the starter up to the junction block and then the fusible link fries.
