That looks like a nice truck. It has a Vortec small block in it assume.
As I'm pulling the door panels out of the donor I realized I do not know how to disconnect the power window switch? It says twist to remove but it keeps spinning? The dumbest things hang me up sometimes, and this is my first one with power windows I'm taking apart. Any help?
Its a cheezy twist off. You have to pull it off as you twist. Sometimes pretty hard. Its one of those tinnerman push on things.
Looks super clean!
Yeah its in excellent shape for a 91. Heavy half ton model with a 170k on the clock.
Are you guys that run the hubcaps using the stock steel wheels, and if so how wide of a tire are you running?
You remember my brothers old blue 2wd?
He was running 33x12.50-15 on those stock width wheels. I personally wouldn't go wider than 10.5, but you know what that truck went through
haha yeah. I have 315 75 16's on everything else I drive and figured why not if they'll fit.
Still wish I had the black pre-runner, except the half dozen transmissions and couple of motors.
Yeah, them was good times.....
The 80's called and wanted their grill back. Swapped the parts suburban grill onto the K5
Had an offer made for the Suburban and it's gone. Wheels went with it @Greg Ducato. Replaced it with another K5. 203 needs gone through, then it's ready to go.
Don't want to hijack @Fastereddie 's thread with my questions. There was mention of a doubler over there and I'd like to hear from people that use them. As of yet I don't rock crawl but wouldn't mind doing the Blazer Bash (next year) and some local runs. I have a ton of desert history that ranges from pro/expert desert motorcycle racing, retrieval / checkpoints for BITD and the local AMA Racing chapter. So background is mostly high speed stuff and never had a use for more than the stock transfer case.
What are the pros and cons of install & use of a doubler? Will it benefit me considering my blazer's intended use or is it beneficial for only rock crawling?
I have 2 K5's that have the th350/203, and if I can swing it I'd like to swap an ORD 205 into the blazer pictured above, unless there's a better solution.
Swap a 700-241 and dont look back. OD plus deeper first plus better/lighter low and it's a bonus all the way around.
I think it adds purpose, practically gives you 3 gears for every scenario.
Figure this, you know a desert truck will flex and crawl just fine, now add the gearing for slow going.. that's gonna be a fun truck. The low gearing makes things that were challenging before seem like a joke.
Doubler is tight fitting in the short blazer wheelbase.
Magnum. Its only money. Lol
What about an Atlas?
Dual np 205
What is this you speak of ?
