Is it possible? I measured my spare and got 9 inches. It's the same on the Jimmy. What am I not getting here?

Is there a code stamped around the tire valve, or on that surface somewhere around the wheel? Sometimes they are outside, sometimes inside, but it may even say 15xX on it.

And no, 15x9's never happened on the C/K/R/V's.

Then why is it measuring so big?

Because you are measuring the outside edge to outside edge of the wheel whereas to measure properly they are measured on the inside of the rim. If you are measuring 9" outside then it's an 8" wide wheel.

If you measure a 7" wide rim from outside of lip to outside of lip, you will get about 7.5".

I would say you have 8" or 8.5" rims.

Actually I think there may have been a couple of different sizes available. My sticker in the glove box says 235/75R15 and I'm not so sure about the rim width. You caught me, okay. I guess there were different options available. My truck is an '85. That may have something to do with it.

There's a thread around somewhere that talks about the wheel sizes available. 15x7 and x8 for sure, can't recall if there was a *rally* wheel our vintage that was 15x6. I think not, but the thread, if anyone can find it, will say.
