Well hello all,first post guys,
Purchased this 1990 Blazer this past Saturday and I am quite pleased, I already have the power lock and door switches all working they were just dirty. The AC had all the important parts replaced in 2016, but the evaporator box was full of crap and the condensor looked like a bug lamp, plus there was a loose fitting on the high side. I cleaned up the coils, tightened the fitting, and had it recharged and now it’s blowing Ice cold. I think kid that had it went “four wheeling” and buried it. But she’s in pretty good shape the only rust is under the driver side seat of course ,I plan on getting an LMC pan and getting that fixed soon.Of course the speedo is jacked up, but the odometer works(200k miles) and so does the cruise control, so it’s most likely the stepper motor in the gauge and instead of paying for a NOS replacement I think I will just put a GPS gauge in as I know these die regularly and I don’t like fixing things more than once. For now my phones speedo app works just fine and the stereo was replaced correctly so phone lines right in and it wasn’t a hack job so I will leave it I’m not a stereo nut anyway.
The ‘07 Tahoe third row seat mod was already done, and done well with a nice custom mount for seat made from angle iron.So my plan is to find some close to matching front seats from a like generation truck so that the seat belts get replaced too. The current belts and front seats are kinda tired. The door cards are surprisingly in good shape as are the side interior cards for the rear. One “kind of “draw back is the hard top has been permanently attached but that doesn’t bother me. Looks like it’s been rhino lined or something and it’s been sealed up water tight. I had a soft top TJ Jeep for 5 years though and took the top off one time so that’s not going to be an issue. The rear power window was recently rebuilt has a new motor and cable in it and works great with key and switch. I bought this so I can load up the wife and dogs and just go and it will fit that bill fine.
Here are some pictures I will try and imbed them hope this works, As I work on it I will post here and show everyone how it goes.
These are the wheels that are actually on the truck
That driver door isn’t closed all the way it’s not messed up
